Dextrans are valuable in cancer therapies due to their versatility. They can form nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery, allowing cancer drugs to focus on tumor cells, enhancing efficacy and reducing side effects.
Additionally, dextran-coated nanoparticles are used in cell separation to isolate cancer stem cells, aiding in more precise treatments.
